Friction are based at the Edge  – a post-industrial space in the heart of Digbeth.  Our downstairs studio is available for hire, (when we aren’t busy making work down there), and is a large, 2500 sq ft open space, with a height of 18′.  The space is fully accessible, (including accessible WC), comfortable, quirky and has a full kitchen fitted.  There’s a 24′ video screen with projector (suitable for DVD or laptop) and a number of PA systems, large and small, as well as a range of other technical equipment.  We have a portable vinyl dancefloor, and a flexible curtain system to break the space up into smaller areas.  The space seats 60 comfortably for lectures, performances and screenings, or a 100 at a squeeze – though we’ve had up to 250 people at our more popular events (standing room only!).

The Edge is suitable for meetings, seminars and presentations, rehearsals and performances, film screening and shooting, photography, and all kinds of workshops and events.  We’re situated five minutes from Digbeth High Street, just around the corner from St Anne’s Church.
