The Birth of Death

We’re chuffed to be welcoming back our old friend Joanne Tremarco, with her incredible show, the Birth of Death – Saturday 19th May 7pm-8.30pm at the Edge

‘If we all get out of here alive, then the show will have been a success!’ – Joanne Tremarco

The Birth of Death is a performance and after-show discussion devised and performed by Joanne Tremarco, with direction from Yael Karavan.  The piece is a shared meditation on death.  In it Joanne guides an audience through her own deeply personal true story of supporting her mother whilst dying and their own thoughts, experiences and stories about death in their own lives.

As someone who’s seen the show, albeit in an early incarnation, it’s funny, sad, challenging, hilarious, upsetting, beautiful, uncomfortable and comforting. Joanne is an amazing performer and improviser who takes the audience with her on a journey through our (mostly screwed up) relationship with the ‘final curtain’. Audience members were literally laughing with mirth and crying with sadness at the same time. Do not miss it, really, your life (and possibly death) will be the poorer…
