Over twenty years practice in the arts and cultural scene, Friction have developed a range of strands to our work:

• Projects – our many self initiated projects, like Reality Estate or Echoes

• Production and event management – we are highly experienced producers of small and large-scale events (we managed a crew of over 500 for Reality Estate) and are particularly skilled at making things happen in unusual or outdoor settings

• Commissions and residencies – work made in response to briefs, like 1 Square Mile Johannesburg

• Training – our wide experience and commitment to training and developing others, which led us to found West Midlands Creative Alliance and developing our ‘Mapping’ framework

• Workshops – workshops on a range of issues, using all kinds of artforms from dance and drama to digital activities and installation-building
