First Friday August 2026- SANKOFA

This Friday, we’re opening the doors at The Edge for SANKOFA – a free, family-friendly evening as part of Digbeth First Friday.

Come along to meet artist Evelyn Andoh and explore the ideas behind her new residency with Friction Arts.

Born in Accra and raised in Friesland, Evelyn works with textiles, clothing, movement and storytelling. Her practice is inspired by the Akan principle of Sankofa: looking back at the knowledge, stories and traditions we inherit so that we can carry them forward.

This is a chance to spend time together, get creative and help us give Evelyn a proper Friction welcome.

It’s free, relaxed and open to everyone – just drop in.
