Photographer Vanley Burke took beautiful portraits of these women in their homes. We recorded some of their stories and using Augmented Reality, created art works, some of which were exhibited at Birmingham Hippodrome last year. We also interviewed Vanley on his allotment in Handsworth. He describes his experiences of the pandemic and African Liberation Day 1977 in Handsworth Park. All 12 interviews are available to view on the ‘home’ page.
